Humanities on the Road Website

Danzante was approached by the Green Urban Initiative to partner with them for the annual Garden Show at the Farm Show.   This process began as the Green Urban Initiative provided the wood that they use to make garden boxes.  Liz Laribee, a visual arts teaching artist with Danzante created a loose design for the project where the kids had the freedom to use their creativity to paint these two garden boxes within the frame of the design.    The boxes are representative of the youths many ideas and various personalities.  Thank you to Jasson Zeigler for the photos.  Check out Journal Publications, Inc for this great photo.

Evening classes begin on Valentine’s Day.  Due to demand and the availability of teachers, we will only be offering Beginning Spanish at this time.  We still have 3 spots open for this class.  You may register by sending an email to duane@danzante.org or calling Danzante at 232-2615.  Class cost is $75 and the class will run for 10 weeks on Mondays from 6:15 to 7:30.

On October 20, Danzante had the pleasure of receiving some very special guests, El Ballet Folklorico Quetzali of Veracruz, Mexico.  The Ballet Folklorico “Quetzalli” is a group composed of young people who love the traditions of their people expressed through music, songs, and dances characteristic of different ethnic groups. They create their interpretations through technical formation, bibliographical study, and ritual observation.

This visit was made possible by The Rose Lehrman Theatre at HACC, where the group performed the following night.  Our preview was muy alegre.

The After School Art Program will include:

Dance, Music, Visual, Language, Theatre, and Eco-Arts!

Program hours 3-6pm Monday – Thursday.

Danzante is available for special group workshops.  If you would like to bring your school, church or club to Danzante for a Flamenco workshop, please call to inquire.

$25 dollar deposit due by June 1st to secure your chlid’s spot in the camp!
