Danzante was established in 1978, as a Spanish Dance Company under the guidance of its founder and Director, Camille Erice and resident guitarist and co-founder Paco Molinero. Danzante is dedicated to the development of young, talented dancers, actors, musicians, writers/poets, and artists.
In 1992, Danzante formed a community-based advisory group with the capacity to identify growing community concern regarding the lack of Latino arts programs for youth and a neighborhood youth-specific, indigenous program was established.
Danzante offers opportunities for its students to perform throughout the year at the Annual Recital Fiesta, Hispanic Heritage Month, Arts Festivals, schools and other community functions.
Danzante was awarded a grant to develop a community arts center that opened its new space in 1999, with new dance studios, art room, a performing center, a resource library and its administrative offices.
Danzante is the only Hispanic arts and cultural multi-disciplinary organization in Central Pennsylvania that offers arts programs for community children, adults, and schools throughout the Region.
